
About Ziyed
Ziyed Yusuf Ayoub is a comic artist. Previously he was a freelance illustrator, during which time he elaborated a range of works for a variety clients. He illustrated the 2017 North American Tour poster for Mitski Miyawaki, the book cover for YA novel Second Coming by André-Naquian Wheeler, and worked as a colorist for the Steven Universe comics. During his time as a freelance artist, he has collaborated as a comic artist with authors Blue Delliquanti on Flash Forward: An Illustrated Guide to Possible (And Not So Possible) Tomorrows and Nadia Shammas under the supervision of Chip Zdarsky on a comic to be announced. His comic Fi Yidina was published as part of the Iron Circus' anthology Smut Peddler: Silver.
Ziyed was raised in Sousse, Tunisia, and now lives in the South of France. He attended the School of Applied Arts ESMA in 2012 and self published You Can't Make That Shit Up in 2017, a comedy biography on an anonymous friend living through a series of improbable events.
He is now a studying a culinary course with Chef Thierry Marx, pursuing a cooking carreer to support the creation and self publishing of his comic book and graphic novels. Inspired by true events, his weekly comic strip Free Food is underway. It is a combination of slice of life comedy and serial cookbook published partly on social media and Patreon. Free Food follows the everyday lives of various people all studying a culinary course at a community school in the town of Toulouse. As a whole, Free Food is a project that strives to share the fundamental French techniques of cooking to the homecooks and explore the boundaries of sequential art online.
