About Ziyed
Working as a freelance illustrator, Ziyed elaborated a variety of book covers, the 2017 North American Tour poster for Mitski Miyawaki and provided colors for the Steven Universe comics among other projects.
As a comic artist, Ziyed collaborated with writers Blue Delliquanti on Flash Forward: An Illustrated Guide to Possible (And Not So Possible) Tomorrows ; With Nadia Shammas under the supervision of Chip Zdarsky on Newburn’s back issue, Brooklyn Zirconia. His comic Fi Yidina was published as part of the Iron Circus anthology Smut Peddler: Silver. Ziyed self published You Can't Make That Shit Up in 2017, a comedy biography on an anonymous friend living through a series of improbable events.
Ziyed’s work earned him the 2020 Shortbox Award; it was nominated for the 2021 Eisner Award along all contributors of the Flash Forward anthology; Ziyed’s work was selected for the 2026 Mayor’s Art Show in his current town of Eugene, OR.
Ziyed was raised in Sousse, Tunisia and attended the School of Applied Arts ESMA in the south of France. He now lives in Oregon with his husband where he works on personnal projects.
Ziyed is currently seeking representation with an agent who works across comics, illustration, and adjacent visual media. His long-term focus is original graphic narratives, while short-form illustration and design commissions play an active role in building his practice, visibility, and audience. His personal work centers on the erotica and horror genre, gender identity, human rights, and the cultural history of Tunisia.
